There are only two conditions under which you would take stereo equipment to a foreign country with 50 hz electricity: one, if the components are AC, dual frequency; or, if they are driven by a DC (direct current) motor. Dual frequency speaks for itself and direct current is unaffected by frequency.
Either way, you will need a step down transformer. The first thing you will need to do is determine the watts of each component so that you know what size transformer to order. This information should be on the device somewhere, it is a UL requirement that this information be permanently marked on all appliances. You can then simply total up the watts of each component and order the next size up transformer. One last word, never order a transformer that is too small for the job.
